final playdate
We kept Casper home from camp today so she could have a last playdate with her best friend from school, Logan. H is 6 and going into first grade and a darling - so grown up and considerate. He brought flowers! (From their garden.) Who says all 6 year old boys are wild and rough? In this pairing, Casper is the wild one.
When Dillo wakes and Logan's aunt comes to get him, I am going off with the kids to ride the bus to work and say goodbye to my student employee, whose last day is today. Then we drop off the (late) videos at the other library and home for dinner. mr. flea went out in the car at 12:30 saying he wasn't coming back until his final draft was done and submitted. I hope this will occur before I am scheduled to leave for work at 7:30 tomorrow morning!
Kids need a bath, and I want to get them both down by 9 for SYTYCD. Then I'll watch and finish the quilt; I estimate 2 hours of binding sewing left, but maybe I can work fast.
We have NO PLAN for Dillo's birthday. I have a Little People train that we'd had hidden in the basement, and the quilt, and a book (a new Mo Willems). I may send mr. flea out to procure a stomp rocket. We also have 3 packages that came in the mail today, one of which is IMMENSE and marked fragile. But I need a plan for cake. Maybe just Whole Foods cupcakes? And ice cream.

How funny -- Nora has a friend named Logan who is also the calm & courteous one in that relationship! Clearly, if one wants a polite child Logan is the thing to name him.
