Highlights: the love affair between Casper and her grandma, smonster and the family flea, and I FINALLY GOT ME SOME DANSKO SANDALS!!!1!

Went to the Carrboro farmer's market (much bigger than ours, also, shade!) and got beets, carrots, broccoli, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. Did not buy peaches due to the price of $4.75 for 5. Then undid the healthy by eating chocolate chip pancakes.
Yesterday I planted the rest of the beans and the canteloupes. Harvested probably the last of the snow peas. First set of beans are 10 inches high and grew 2" last night. Carrors have germinated remarkably well but are still tiny babies and I worry about them in this heat. Two of the tomatoes (Cherokee Purple and Green Zebra) have set the first small fruit but both Brandywines are having some problem with the blossoms dying - I hope it isn't fusarium wilt or whatever you call it. The climbing rose has had 4 blooms. The four o'clocks from last year have self-propagated. The butterfly bush is coming into bloom. I received a catalog for serious bulb lovers in the mail yesterday. I could buy 200 crocus and 100 tulip bulbs, right? That would be sane, right? They're cheap...
