sewing mania
Between Holli's purse production and orthoepy's Dress-A-Day project, I spent the whole bus ride in this morning dreaming up sewing projects. I *have* existing sewing projects - slipcover for the chair, finish quilting the quilt - and MUST NOT start any new ones. Besides, my new ones are all impratical for the seat-of-the-pants basically-unskilled sewer that I am. They include: copy a linen blouse I own (in my defense, although bias-cut it is simple, with flat seams, no darts or buttons or collar or anything), start making myself knee-length A-line skirts, start making Casper simple A-line jumpers, in cotton prints for now, then in fleece or corduroy or something for the fall. And replace my fraying work tote bag. (Hmm - I wonder if Holli does custom work?)
What I really want is to get flowery dresses like those at Mini Boden for Casper. She's not really old enough for those yet, and it remains to be seen how girly she'll turn out to be. Really, of course, I want them for myself, but I am not built physically to dress in such a fashion (I think they require a more romantic figure than mine), cannot wear dresses off the rack in any case because of my Alien From Planet Long torso, and couldn't afford Boden prices even if the first two were true. But sewing jumpers for Casper could solve some of my large floral print cravings, couldn't it?

Edited to break up links, because I am too lazy to remember how to make a cut-tag. O for the b.org coders and their autolinking!

2 The rack doesn't work the other way too, what with ridiculously shortwaistedness.
3. Bus time is CRAFT PLANNING time! yay, mass transit!
