mad serial poster what posts like mad about Casper

We were counting up words Casper knows and there are so many! She is a clever girl! (Remember, she is only almost 16 months old).

up, go ("go go go!"), dada, baba (baby), mmmmmooo (cow), balloon, ball, Anya (Tonya, the nanny; she uses this for me also and basically to mean "yo, pay attention to me, you adult!"), alligator, dog, cat, duck, truck, sock, hat. She calls all apes (gorillas in books, her monkey puppet Maurice) Bobo, after the baby chimp in the book Hug. She makes cat, dog, and cow noises when asked to.

Things she's said clearly at least once: Dander (Alexander), Oliver, more, see-saw.

Very huggy lately, including huggy of stuffed animals. At the same time, quite emphatic and violent with objects - whacks a chair she wants to sit in, whacks mummy, slam down a book on my lap when she wants me to read. I completely understand why someone at b.org said her nephew though the cat's name was Gentle Gentle. She has been coloring a little, though in the 5 minutes I let her have crayons yesterday to make a picture for the nanny she bit the green one and colored on the chair with the red one, and this with me watching her closely. I got the (washable!) crayons for her stocking; also bubble bath, a pull giraffe, and "Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type" (which we have already read several times, whoops.)

Soooooooo cute! Aren't they stubborn about saying "Mama"?

The next time she has a check-up, you might want to check with your pedi about Bubble Bath for her. My understanding has always been that it's not a good idea for little girls--something about an increased risk of UTIs. I have let Julia have one or two as the rarest of treats. I don't know if it is still discouraged or not, though.

Thanks for the UTI head's up - I've never had one, so it's not on my radar. I bought a natural brand thinking it would be gentler on skin, so I hope that's a plus.

I got the washable crayons for Kara and Aidan discovered that he loves to eat them. When they get wet they get everywhere. He has colored himself quite well with them. It washes off of him, easily, but not as well on fabric.

That's an impressive list of words for a 16 month old. How awesome. You've got a smart girl, which of course we knew. Supposedly, about 18 months is when they bond with a stuffed animal and want to drag it everywhere with them. Sounds like she might be early with that, too.

We love Click, Clack Moo around here, too.

Yes, I am disappointed in the washable crayons. Washable is good, but "lick it and leave marks everywhere" is not good.

Did you know Clck Clack Moo has a sequel? It's about that sneaky duck.

GIGGLE GIGGLE QUACK!

We love that one, too.

Did you know that Click Clack Moo is in the Scholastic Video DVD collection? It's narrated by Randy Travis, and he does a great job. I love the Scholastic Video series. We borrow them from the library.

I am so worried about you two...

Hee!

You would like the books too. They're quite entertaining. Really.

Ha! I was just going to post about Giggle Giggle Quack.

For a while, I had a tagline at b.org of "Duck was a neutral prty, so he brought the ultimatum to the cows."
