Baby stuff

New: rolling over and over. She did it yesterday for the nanny, and today for mr. flea. Now she can locomote! Albeit in a sort of inefficient way. I think she was scootching backwards some yesterday, too.

We're trying to be a little more consistent with offering food - generally bananas - at our dinner time. She eats but not with great enthusiasm. Yesterday she wasn't too interested, so we didn't push it. She was more involved in the noise her feet made kicking against the foot rest of the high chair than in eating. (We have decided she's like that horse who can count by tapping his foot. She bangs her right foot against the car seat a lot. So we say, "What's two plus two?" Bam, bam, bam, bam. "What's seven minus three?" Bam, bam, bam, bam.)

She's getting big - I hope we have an on-time spring, because if she goes up a size too soon we'll have to buy some new long-sleeved things. I am also now looking at bigger carseats, since my guess is she'll be too long for the basic infant seat we have now by the time of her checkup in 2 weeks, if she isn't already. Bigger car seats are much less convenient, alas, as you have the keep them in the car and can't snap the baby carrier out of the base and walk around. I can't believe she's outgrowing this seat already at 6 months.

mr. flea brought her to my work today - in the snow - in the Baby Bjorn, facing forward, but with her lower half zipped inside his coat. She was red-cheeked and cheery, and fell asleep when we got her to the restaurant. Stayed asleep through being re-inserted in the snowsuit, re-fitted in the Bjorn, and out the door into the cold air. Opened one eye briefly as I kissed her goodbye. Little floppy head.

flea, I can't believe how big Casper is! Outgrowing the carseat already? Frances is just starting to wear her 6 to 9 month clothes. She's far away from outgrowing her carseat. My best guess is that she's grown a fair, but she probably only weighs 15 or 16 pounds. She's kind of a medium sized baby.

I wanna see a recent picture of Eve. I'm sure she's adorable.

Frances is eating regular meals now, twice a day. It's so much more work than breastfeeding because of course she makes a huge mess. But she loves eating. It's a crack up.

With the car seat and clothes both, it's length. (If you'd met me and mr. flea, you would not be surprised). She was 25.25 inches at 4 months (and 14 and a half pounds), and those infant car seats are only good to 26 inches (at least ours is). The clothes that don't fit are too short in the torso; most 6-9 months now fit well with little spare room, and she doesn't swim in 9-12. She's outgrowing my favorite (purple with big white polka dot) socks!

Did you see the pictures from January (http://www4.ncsu.edu/~metryby/PhotoAlbums/Albums/January_2004/index.html)? These are the most recent up online, though the newest are 3 weeks old. YOU need to post more photos too. The LJ pic is from a while ago, right? Such a bright face, I love to see her when you post.

oh, such a cutie! I hadn't seen those before (I skip a lot over at b.org). Thank you.

My icon is from ages ago. She's only 2 months. Her head has really changed a lot since then.

Okay, I'll make a point of uploading some new pics soon.

Oh. Between that and the pictures, AND Burrell's icon, my uterus just flipped over.

Awww! The image of her all zipped up in his coat makes me sniffle. I wanna hold her, but it sounds like soon, she'll be too ginormous! (I have this picture of Alice, drinking the "Grow Me" potion, until you have this enormobaby!)
