silly parents, or cute baby? you decide

We sing a lot. Kid songs, but a lot of pop tunes reworked with baby-specific words. OPne of our top hits is "Diaper Time" to the tune of MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This." For diaper changes, natch. So there's a lot of "Diapey time! Woa woa woa woa woa."

Casper now sings along with the woa woas. In fact, sometimes it's the only thing that gets her to lie down and not attempt to stand up and run away during diaper changes. That and tummy zerberts.

Cute baby!

(not the dumbest parental distraction tactic I've committed heard of, by a long shot)

Hah! When Nora was tiny we'd sing that to her (without the word changes) and make her "dance" along - in fact we've got a little mpeg at home of Sean singing it to her. I'll see if I have enough bandwidth somewhere to post it.

Our children will be warped by the fact their parents survived the 80s...

I think it's cute.

Occasionally I make my cats to the "Stirring the Pot" dance. Now that's silly.

We did this with our cat when she was a kitten. To the "Who let the dogs out" song that was so ubiquitous then.

I'm thinking a whole lot of cute baby.

We sing "We are the dinosaurs" when changing diapers. At least mine can't get up and run away...yet.

My parents made up songs for all kinds of things, except they all had the same similiar tune.... but we had songs for putting away toys, making the bed, our street address. I can't remember but I'm sure there were bath and brushing teeth songs as well.
