out of the mouths...

Saturday night, Elmo's, waiting for a table; I am wearing purple rabbit ears headband.

2.5-3 year old enters, with parents, "Look, mommy - a donkey!"

****

Today, in the park, Casper: "guck!" (truck, pointing, as a truck passes). And I got it on the digicam's video feature!

****

I hope you see this, Burrell - congratulations on Frances' upcoming sibling. May the new one bring as much joy as the first has. On the other hand, I think you're crazy to have a second before Frances is two!

****

As far as the election, I am disappointed but essentially in the What Nutty Said camp. I am most heartbroken for the people I know who are activists and worked so hard to achieve their desired outcome and feel like they have failed today. In which news, my neighbor, at the park, "We were precint captains in Neighborhood X, and at 7:20 I was knocking on doors and driving people to the polls. We interrupted a drug deal and got the dealer to go vote!" Heh.

Aww, man, if the wait for a table at Elmo's at Saturday brunchtime had been any longer, I might've seen your purple-eared glory!

And your neighbor's story? Possibly the most Dur ourtown thing EVER.

Thanks, and yes, you may be right about the insane thing. Unlike the first time, this pregnancy was kind of a surprise for us. Hoped for, but unexpected.

I'm glad for the surprise -- I remember, if only second-hand, how much sheer work and worry the first time was for you.

Thanks, gchick. It's true.

There are 5 families I know from the park with kids 18 or so months apart (2 of them adopted one, then got pregnant, which I thought was a myth until I knew 2 people it happened to) and they all seem happy.

Me, I'm all Not Until Casper is Three!

Also, I still haven't had a period. Although that doesn't stop some people from conceiving.

And now I am rambling. Hope you are less sicky this time around.
