determined girl
So, the fussa is learning to walk. She's definitely doing it herself, and it's adorable. She started by standing up by herself, in the middle of the floor without the help of furniture. Then she moved on to swaying and boogie dancing while standing - working on balance. Then one step. I've seen her get up to five at this point, though she still often falls after the first. But she's clearly practicing, and determined. She falls once, looks serious, gets up, sways more, goes for a step, poompf on her butt. Up again. She'll go at it all around the room, falling 10 tmes before she goes on to another activity. And she looks so pleased with herself at each successful step. She really WANTS to walk. We are giving her lots of praise and encouragement.
We may also have created an uh-oh monster in the doctor's office Tuesday. She was fidgety and playing with my watch and work ID, and when she dropped either we'd say "uh-oh" and show them to her on the floor. Since, we've had a continual stream of things deliberately dropped off the high chair tray, all followed by, "uh-oh."

I don't think there is one in Aidan. He's taken to screaming when things don't go his way and he still won't take a step.

Heh. Now I'm imagining her practicing her walking to the theme from Rocky.
