comic books for early readers?

Casper is asking for comic books. Can anyone recommend any that are both good and geared at beginning readers? She's currently at "hop on pop" level, but anything pitched lower than, say, Calvin and Hobbes (which she loves but can't read) would be great. Superheros, girly stuff, fairies, any subject would be fine.

Oh, Babymouse, for sure! It's pink-and-black-and-white, a little girly, much fun. I don't remember it enough to be sure of the reading level, but I know a bunch of early-elementary students who read it.

Owly. Bumperboy. Babymouse might be a little too advanced for her, but I haven't examined them closely.

Art Spiegelman has edited a whole line of graphic novels for kids, reviewed here/

Ditto the Spiegelman/Mouly stuff; you might also like to look at the Owly books, and Bone is a big favorite around here. Herself also likes a book called Fashion Kitty, which I think is pretty vacuous but oh well.

Teen Titans Go! It's the one based on the animated TV series and is very easy to follow for young kids.

I think there are some trades.
