no time to garden...

I am too busy thwacking back the things that need thwackin' (notably, the lawn; knee deep in clover we are) to do much else.

The zucchini and cucumber bought it in the frost of Easter weekend, but the tomato and all the flowers survived. Didn't make the farmer's market this week so I'll buy more seedlings next week (cuke, tomatoes, zucchini, anything else that takes my fancy.)

Currently:
Peas first planting are in bloom and podding.
Peas second planting are starting to bloom.
Peas third planting are just a couple of inches tall.
First lettuce is 3 inches and probably needs another thin.
Second lettuce is up and definitely needs a thin.
Kale is 2 inches and needs a thin.
Sweet peas are growing incredibly slowly - still only about 4 inches high!
First petunia bloomed and I promptly accidentally lopped it off with the lawnmower.
Several of the iris (smaller, deep purple ones, my favorite) are in bloom and more budding.

To do (maybe I'll dash out after dinner and do it hastily):
Plant beans
Plant carrots
Plant marigolds
Maybe plant some more lettuce (mesclun this time; what's in now is head).

I have accomplished: mowing much of the back, sweeping back and front poches and front walk. Front in desperate need of mowing; I may deputize mr. flea tomorrow.

We did have a picnic lunch in the yard after I gave up getting anything done.

I have moved the ficus to the back porch after Dillo got into it twice today; he is now in exploratory mode and no cord or bathroom is safe from him.

Casper still occasionally feverish and definitely coughing, but seems okay.
