baby!

Born early this morning, to Laura and Joel, a daughter, Kate Frances. Two weeks late; had to be induced!

I was thinking recently of the popular names of my generation (I am 34) and came up with: Jennifer/Jen, Heather, Jessica, Melissa, Stephanie, Alison (various spellings). I have known lots of these in my peer group. Boys are harder: Michael, Brian?

I'm 35, and in addition to the Michaels and Brians, I went to school with lots of Scotts and Sean/Shaun/Shawns. Oh, and on the girl's side, Lisa and Christy/Kristie/etc. in addition to the ones you list.

Christopher? When mine went to work at his current company, he had four Christophers in his small unit of 12 people.

I think John and James were still popular names in our age cohort, too.

Girls: Lisa, yes. Also Michelle. There were 3 or 4 in my Grade 12 class (not a large one).

Boys: Dave! I also knew three Borises, but that had more to do with living in a city with a big Eastern European population.
