la la la la I can't heeeeear you!

In "denial is a better place to be than fruitless rage" news, here is what I want for Christmas:

A combination VCR/DVD player.
A new dryer (and someone else to go through the hassle of procuring and installing it).
A queen or king sized wool blanket so mr. flea and I can stop having midnight sleepy blanket fights. A nice one, from Garnet Hill or someplace schmancy. But on sale, so under $100. A nice dark red or purple or blue.
Magic fairies to help me get rid of old shoes that I no longer wear, plus new basic daily Danskos to replace my worn old ones that I think are starting to make my left big toe a sad sad toe.
Better skin. Stress comes out in my skin. It's been a very bad couple of weeks. I look like a 14 year old.
The metrosexual fairy to make my husband care about dressing himself, 'cause he has some nice clothes but prefers grad student chic to looking swanky (and by swanky I mean shoes that aren't birkenstocks, corduroy pants, and a shirt that's not a tee-shirt).
Two pairs of practical and chic black pants for work. I must stop buying tapered-leg dockers in weird colors just because they are only $20 and splurge for full-price black boot-cut pants that will make me feel sassy.
A new wardrobe of t-shirts that are not all sad and worn. Is it too much to ask to have basic tank tops, tee shorts, and long sleeved tee-shirts in black, white, and a couple of flattering colors? I guess it is, because I cannot seem to keep up with t-shirt death around my house, and it is so boring to have to spend $100-200 getting basic stuff that everyone should have.
Plants! My White Flower Farm Christmas catalog came in the mail yesterday. Why are Amaryllis frickin' $24!?!
I am still (since last year) completely taken with this polyester faux-shearling jacket from LLBean. Though I am sure it gets all pilly right away and is not worth $100. And I can't decide what color I would like - black? brown? red? (http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?page=faux-shearling-jacket&category
Id=42355&parentCategory=6350&cat4=6248&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&feat=ssdpa6248)

Happily fall is finally upon us - we're getting nights below 50 degrees! So I can get out the flannel sheets and the scarves and feel like I have some new treats for myself.

"The metrosexual fairy..." Hmm. I think just "fairy" would work also.
