no-new-stuff January: update

New stuff that has come in:
2 new sets of sheets for Casper's bed, sent to us by Grandma. Needed - well, one set was needed, anyway, and was my agreement when Grandma suggested she buy them. I have yet to go up into the recesses of the sheet cupboard and move the old percale sheets for Casper's bed, which date back to my college years, and have lost the elastic in their fitted sheet, into the giveaway pile, but that's where they are going. Two in, one and maybe a half out.

Sweater vest for Dillo (knit by Grandma) and box to be used as bed with tiny handknit blanket for Casper's doll house. (Notice a Grandma theme here?)

Grandma's old Mac desktop computer, which is only 1-2 cycles newer than ours, although it has a much nicer display. (This is technically an Xmas present, but it only arrived mid-January.) We need to decide if we are going to keep it, meaning lots of work for mr. flea as we move all our stuff over to it, or just sell it. Basically mr. flea's decision, which means it will sit there for months.

Ariel coloring book for Casper, with small pack of crayons, from the grocery store. (On a trip I was not along for).

Paperback book for Casper, in a box of cheerios, which she loved, and wants the next installment of, but the next installment is in a box of Lucky Charms, and mr. flea said no. (Now that I think of it, No Lucky Charms was the same trip as the coloring book, above, which was probably the compromise.)

Two grocery bags of baby clothes, returned from H's mom. H is 8 months younger than Dillo and now almost the same size (Dillo is about to grow out of 18 months while H is just entering the size).

Stuff that has gone or is going out:
Box of books in process of being packed for Grandma and sister. A couple are returned loans, a couple are loans from me to Grandma, a couple I hope are for me to get rid of in this fashion.

Shoes I no longer wear because they feel pinchy after years of Danskos, into giveaway pile.

Former winter bag, which I never liked, into giveaway pile since I got wonderful new Xmas bag.

I did a cull of the videos and pulled 6 or 7 for the giveaway bag, a couple things we now have on DVD and a couple kid things I have never liked or we've had for 10 years and never watched.

Spare baby backpack from basement, to H's mom. I hope they get good use of it.

I packed up one cardboard box and labeled it "excess toys" and sent it to the basement, and I have another in progress in my bedroom, except Dillo keeps fetching things out of it. My goal is that if nothing in these has been missed by the time we move, they go to yard sale/Goodwill. (Though I will need to cull for baby toys, in case of additional baby.)

I culled Casper's drawers and took the things that were too small and put them away where she can't find them and demand to wear them (the top of my closet) for future giveaway.

I need to do another stay-home-from-work and clean Casper's room and cull her toys day. It's impossible in there.

I need to be vigilant about maintaining the computer area as paper and clutter free as possible.

February will probably be the month of paper de-cluttering as a consequence of filing taxes. We are in decent shape here, but you have to keep at it.

I need to join Bookmooch and see if I can honorably cast off some books. Also cull Casper's bookcases of things that are Not Good (Dora and Blues Clues books, i.e.) and hold for yard sale.
