My friends' list is completely screwy today.
I have finished laundry and Qucken so am feeling somewhat accomplished. Today the nanny forgot that she was supposed to drop Casper off at my work, so I had to go fetch her after all, and didn't get home with her until 1:40, AND had to carry her 25 pound self in the backpack the whole way as I had been planning to take the bus home from work and avoid the half-our walk. Hungry, sweaty, and grumpy, i put Casper down for her nap and discovered that mr flea had eaten ALL the pizza. He was so wnderfully contrite on the phone that he defused my entire bad mood (that and the box of Nilla Wafers).
I taught Casper how to blow on hot food - she hates food that is even warm, really preferring the tepid - and now she blows on everything. It is very cute.
She said "Oliver" (the name of S's cat) twice yesterday in my and S's hearing as I was picking her up. It's amazing how she says the things that Ellen says - Oliver was one of Ellen's first real words. The nanny said she said "see-saw" today at the park.
We bought her sneakers - size 6.5 - at Target this weekend. They are sort of huge and affect her walk so she looks more than usually like a rampaging dinosaur when walking. I still like to put her in Robeez but for outside when it is wet out real shoes are practical. Also she adores Ellen's and Alexander's shoes, especially sneakers with velcro, so her new sneaks are a toy as well as a shoe.
Have had a cranky patch. She is tempermental and has gotten so she gets angry when put into car seat or stroller against her will. Basically whined all the way home in the stroller yesterday. When angry she stamps stamps stamps her feet. Interesting this - coupled with gleeful shrieks - is also her repsonse to great excitement, like seeing a dog at the park. (looooooooves dogs). It's really important she get enough sleep right now, and she's been a little clingy - cries when I leave for work which KILLS me. mr flea notes she is much more whiny/clingy/tempermental with me than with him or the nanny.
Slightly less obsessed with reading now, but still very interested - in Cars and Trucks and Things That Go, Mr. Paint Pig's ABC, and the Winnie the Pooh flap book.
