cute report via phone
mr. flea just called to say that he was marching in the kitchen and whistling the Mickey Mouse Club theme (don't look at him funny - unlike the barking, this time there was a legit baby-amusing purpose) and Casper watched and then started marching in place while holding on to the baby gate. Hee.
She's a wee bit fevery this AM, perhaps a result of the MMR given 8 days ago? They warn that it causes a week-delayed reaction.
The nanny's ex-husband (a recent divorce) is dying of cancer this week, and nanny is upset on her own behalf and doing a lot of support for her daughters, the younger of whom (19) is doing a lot of the care for her father. (He was released from the ICU Monday night straight to home, with nobody to take care of him but a 19 year old with no experience, no provision for home nursing or hospice - don't they have a social worker at that hospital? Grr.) So we were nannyless much of yesterday and all of today, and I feel guilty that I am stressed out by trying to arrange nanny-coverage, while the nanny has much bigger problems.
