Brian was a slightly older (than you; younger than me) boy we knew, I think. From the preschool. Do you remember that phase at all?
There are other structural things too. Casper makes any group of like objects (marigolds on a stem, acorns) into a family. And her play with animal figures, etc., is very much about modeling social interaction.
