Teeth!
Casper's first two teeth are coming in together - lower central incisors. They were visible just under the skin yesterday afternoon, and I could feel them this morning (although she resolutely clammed up, stuck her tongue in the way, attempted to eat the flashlight, etc. every time I tried to investigate). Teeth!
She has gotten very active in the last week or so - much more engaged physically, reaching for everything - she's a menace, took bites out of our boarding cards, ate a tea bag wrapper and I couldn't even figure out how she got it into her mouth - I thought it was in my hand. Scoots like crazy, ending up underneath furniture. Sits very well indeed. It's hard to change diapers because of all the wiggling - she goes for the lamp and its dangling switch. She's physically turned outwards. So responsive to me, it's like she suddenly is sure who exactly I am, is glad to see me specifically (and to pull on my nose, gauge my eyes, play with my hair, etc.) She just gets more and more exciting. Has gotten more strong-willed recently too - quick to cry loudly if things are not going her way - she's been put down and doesn't want to be, I've taken away the magazine insert she is eating, SHE wants to hold the spoon. But is still fairly easily mollified and/or distracted. She's like a real little human now!
Garden: peas six inches tall, spinach halfheartedly growing, lettuce in dire need of planting, lawn in dire need of mowing. Wisteria in bloom, azaleas coming out (that pink which seems so thoroughly unnatural!), tulips passing (accelerated by rain), some early iris blooming. Still cool and overcast interspersed with deluges.
